We see it. We build it. And we've made it our life's work to build it better.

Tambano Civil Engineering was born from a simple, almost stubborn belief: that agricultural infrastructure in Africa doesn't have to be a gamble. For too long, farmers and agribusinesses have accepted cost overruns, delayed timelines, and finger-pointing between contractors as unavoidable facts of life. We refused to accept that. We still do.

Where we come from

We are a Zimbabwean company, rooted in Harare, with our feet firmly planted in African soil since 2024. We understand the terrain—not just the physical landscape of the country's eight provinces, but the economic and operational landscape that farmers navigate every day. We know what's at stake when an irrigation scheme fails or when a pump station underperforms. We've seen the difference that reliable infrastructure makes to food security, to livelihoods, to entire communities.

That's why we exist. Not to sell blueprints. To deliver outcomes.

We are project managers, engineering professionals, and problem-solvers who happen to be obsessed with data. Not because we love spreadsheets (though some of us do), but because we've learned that the difference between a project that succeeds and one that fails is usually found in the numbers people didn't bother to check. We check them. We triple-check them. Then we check them again.

How we work

We don't do "handover and goodbye." That's not how we're built. We stay through the startup phase, through the inevitable teething problems, through the first season of operation. We train your teams. We leave behind documentation that's actually useful—not a binder that gathers dust on a shelf. We come back 30 days later to make sure everything is still running the way it should.

We do this because we measure our success not by the projects we finish, but by the ones that keep delivering value years later.

Where we're going

Africa's agricultural future is being written right now. Zimbabwe alone has set a target of bringing 496,000 hectares under irrigation by 2030. That's not a small opportunity—it's a generational one.

We want to be the partner that farmers and agribusinesses turn to when they can't afford to get it wrong. Because in agriculture, getting it wrong isn't just expensive—it's measured in empty plates and lost livelihoods.
